Facilities and Floor Plans Troubleshooting

Fixes for upload rejections, missing upload buttons, empty pin trays, plans that will not load, blocked location deletes, and facility counts that look wrong.

Updated September 15, 2026

Uploads

If a location shows no upload button, it is typed as a room or an area; only floor and building nodes can host a plan, so change the type. Floor plans also need Professional or above and are absent on Core.

If an upload was rejected, check in order: the file must be PNG, JPEG, or PDF and 25 MB or smaller; a password-protected PDF needs its password removed; a PDF with no readable pages must be exported again; an upload over your storage quota is refused before anything is stored.

If the PDF page mapping will not continue, every page must be matched to a floor and no floor may receive more than one page. Split the PDF outside Rivolq if it has pages you do not want.

The plan will not load

Plan images are served through signed URLs that expire, so refresh and try again. If it still fails, the file may have been removed; re-upload the plan to that node.

Pins and room detection

The unplaced-assets tray only lists assets in the subtree that owns the plan; a missing asset is assigned elsewhere or sitting in Unassigned. Fix its location, then pin it. See Unlocated assets and location cleanup. If the plan says to reconcile rooms before pinning, work through the review or dismiss the shapes and pin against the image directly.

Scanned and raster-only drawings often have no extractable geometry: use Retry parse once, then fall back to Draw rooms. If Not on plan is stuck above zero, those are tree rooms not found on the drawing, and if they genuinely are not on the sheet that is correct.

Locations and the map

Deleting a node with more than 1,000 assets beneath it is refused with a subtree_too_large conflict; delete smaller child locations first. Deleting a location moves assets on purpose: they are reparented to the nearest surviving ancestor or to Unassigned, and their pins are cleared.

If the facility is missing from the map, add an address or set latitude (-90 to 90) and longitude (-180 to 180) directly.

Counts and archives

Past due is a subset of Active work (open plus in progress plus on hold). Critical-rated counts assets rated criticality 4 or 5: importance, not condition. A dash means Rivolq could not source the figure; it is never an estimate.

If you archived a facility by mistake, restore it from the recycle bin within 60 days. See Editing, archiving, and restoring facilities. Still stuck? Ask the AI assistant from the page you are on, or see How to get help fast.
