Using the AI Assistant

The Rivolq assistant is the sparkle icon in the top bar (also opened with Command K or Ctrl K) and the full-page Agent view at /agent. It has read access to the workspace context your role and plan allow: assets, work orders, PMs, documents, KB articles, and intelligence surfaces. It adapts to the page you are on.

What it is good at

1. 01Answering questions about your operation, such as overdue PMs in the chiller plant.
2. 02Drafting and summarizing: a work order summary for handoff, a PM draft from an attached manual or a likely fault on an asset with recent failures, citing past work orders, asset context, and KB articles when available.
3. 03Finding KB articles inline. Articles are cited, and you can click through to the full version.

Citations and confirmation

Factual claims about your data should be tied to a source such as a work order, asset, report, or KB article. If the assistant cannot cite a reliable source, it says so and falls back to general guidance instead of inventing history. It may draft or stage work, but destructive or operational actions require explicit confirmation; the same applies to proposals staged by external AI clients through Rivolq Connect, which a human reviews before they run. The assistant will not access data outside your organization, will not bypass your role, feature entitlement, or plan gates, and will not share your data for training or improvement.

Voice input and read-aloud

The assistant supports typed questions and, where the browser allows it, voice dictation. Completed replies can show a Read aloud control. When server narration is configured, Rivolq uses OpenAI text-to-speech through the same cached narration service as the product tour; otherwise the text answer stays available and Rivolq does not fall back to browser speech. Voice cannot confirm a proposal, approve a plan, or execute an operational action.

Shortcuts

Command K or Ctrl K opens command search and assistant entry points. Up arrow in the assistant input recalls your last message. Slash focuses global search.

Rivolq Connect and cost

Rivolq Connect is separate from the in-product assistant: it exposes Rivolq data to MCP-compatible AI clients such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor after a user connects and grants scopes. Base assistant access is included from Core. Heavy AI usage, expanded allowance, BYOK provider settings, and cost analysis belong to higher tiers or contracted arrangements; see AI usage and budgets.
