How to Update Settings, Billing, and Team Access Safely
Learn how to make settings, billing, and access changes deliberately, verify them, and know when to ask support
Updated June 5, 2026
Settings is the administrative control surface for account preferences, team access, security options, billing, and organization-level controls. Treat settings changes as governance changes, not casual clicks.
Update account or organization settings
- 01Open Settings.
- 02Choose the section to change.
- 03Make one intentional change at a time.
- 04Save or confirm the update.
- 05Verify the result before leaving the page.
Manage billing
Use billing controls to review the active plan, confirm usage or entitlement context, update payment details, or understand why a feature is or is not visible. Before changing, confirm who owns commercial decisions, whether the current plan already covers the need, and whether the change affects one user or the whole organization.
Manage team access
Confirm the user and the intended role change, save, then verify the user sees the correct surfaces. Use the least access needed. Avoid shared accounts and keep admin access limited.
If you are stuck
If a change has no effect, check whether the save completed, the feature is plan-gated, the change affects another user, or a refresh is needed. If a page is missing, check your role, the plan, entitlements, and setup completion. Ask support before changes that affect production data, billing, security, SSO, plan limits, or a large group of users.
